“Hello! I am a Kyiv princess Mila, and my life is full of stress”: to celebrate Kyiv day, Animagrad launches a new project about the Ukrainian capital

Specially for Kyiv day, Animagrad animation studio and its first feature The Stolen Princess (the premiere is planned for 2018) launched an edutainment project Diary of The Kyiv Princess written on behalf of the cartoon protagonist princess Mila.

The result of the project will be a guide to historic places in Kyiv. Diary of The Kyiv Princess was launched at official Facebook, Instagram and Twitter pages of the cartoon and the studio; you can follow its development using #ЩоденникПринцесиКиївської hashtag, and its English version can be found via #DiaryOfTheKyivPrincess. In an interactive form, the project familiarizes Kyiv residents and guests with the city’s history, spices up and adds color to a usual stroll in the city center and can be of interest to the widest audience.

On the pages of this diary, Mila writes humorous notes about her favorite spots in Kyiv, describes how the globally known Golden Gate, Desyatynna church, Volodymyrska street and other sights looked one thousand years ago; how time and history changed them; and why they are memorable for her. However, Mila’s diary doesn’t just tell us the history of Kyiv; it also retells some plot details of the future cartoon and allows us to get to know the protagonist better.

“We love Kyiv a lot, so it is with great pleasure that we work on this project”, says Polina Tolmacheva, PR and marketing director of FILM.UA Group. “Walks with the Princess are a great way to have an enjoyable and fulfilling weekend. We are certain that this might grow into something big and interesting. Our Mila is the daughter of legendary prince Volodymyr, and this means she knows absolutely everything about Kyiv.”

FYI: Ukrainian animated feature The Stolen Princess is the first in Animagrad animation studio’s production slate of animated features intended for international market. It has been already pre-sold to China, South Korea, France and French-speaking territories in Europe, Poland, Bulgaria, Israel, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia, as well as countries of the Middle East and North Africa.
