Tickets on sale to national premiere of The Stolen Princess play based on Ukrainian cartoon with the biggest box office

Just recently FILM.UA Group and Animagrad studio announced a national theatre project – The Stolen Princess play based on an animated film with the same title; the play will be touring this fall all over Ukraine. This is a joint project of FILM.UA Group, Magic Box and Skazki Sluchayutsya (Fairy Tales Happen) companies.  

The first performances will take place during school fall vacations: October 27 in Cherkasy, October 28 in Kyiv, October 29 in Sumy, October 30 in Kharkiv, October 31 in Dnipro, November 1 in Kryvyi Rig at 4 and 7 PM, November 2 in Vinnytsya, November 3 in Kherson, and November 4 in Odesa

The tour will resume during winter vacations. The dates and cities will be announced additionally.

The performance will have a lot of adventures, magic, humor and good music. The plot is based on a story from the cartoon: wandering actor Ruslan and Kyiv princess Mila accidentally met in the streets of ancient Kyiv and fell in love with each other, but their happiness was disrupted by the arrival of evil sorcerer Chornomor who kidnapped the princess. Ruslan together with his friends and helpers starts chasing the stolen princess to prove that real love is stronger than magic.

FYI. The Stolen Princess is the first animated feature for Ukrainian and international distribution in the production line of Animagrad studio. The film premiere in Ukraine took place on March 7, 2018 and according to the results of the second weekend it hit the box office record among films produced in Ukraine: the cartoon collected 29,801,235 UAH (previous record-breaker, Cyborgs military drama, collected 23,032,807 UAH during the three months of theatrical distribution). The distribution rights have been sold to over 50 countries, including France, Poland, Bulgaria, Germany and other European countries, China, South Korea, countries of the MENA region and the Latin America. In Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina the film stayed in the cinemas for 20 weeks. The Stolen Princess won at the 9th competitive selection of Ukrainian State Film Agency.
